 THE HOPE OF ETERNAL GLORY

Romans 8:18 I Peter 5:10

Introduction: We live in a world that is temporary., everything we see fades, achievements fades, strength fades even life itself fades.

But the believer has a hope that goes beyond time —The hope of Eternal Glory.

Glory is not just heaven as a place, It is the fullness of life with God forever.

Romans 8:18 “The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Today, let us understand what this Eternal Glory means for us.

1. Eternal Glory Is God’s Promise: Eternal glory is not a wish, It is not a dream, It is not religious poetry, It is a promise from God Himself.

1 Peter 5:10 says: “The God of all grace… has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus.”

This means:

• Glory is your calling

• Glory is your destiny

• Glory is your inheritance

God did not save you just for survival, He saved you for glory.

2. Eternal Glory Is Worth Present Suffering. Sometimes the journey is painful.

Life brings trials, delays, disappointments and hard seasons

2 Corinthians 4:17: “Our light affliction… is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

Your struggle is not in waste.

James 1:12 says: “Blessed is the man who endures temptation, he will receive the crown of life.”

Pain is temporary — glory is permanent.

3. Eternal Glory Is Transformational: Eternal glory is not just about where we go…

It is about what we become.

Philippians 3:21 says: He “will transform our lowly body to be like His glorious body.”1 John 3:2 declares: “We shall be like Him.”

In eternal glory:

• Weakness becomes strength

• Corruption becomes incorruption

• Mortality becomes immortality

You won’t just see glory — you will share in it.

4. Eternal Glory Is Everlasting: Everything on earth has an expiry date, eternal glory does not fade.

2 Timothy 2:10 speaks of: “Salvation with eternal glory.”

Hebrews 12:28 reminds us: We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Earthly success fades, Fame fades, Wealth fades. But eternal glory lasts forever.

Conclusion:

Eternal glory means:

• God has promised it

• Suffering cannot stop it

• It will transform us

• It will last forever

So don’t live only for what is temporary. Live for what is eternal.
